Spring has sprung!

After months of Winter’s cold and gray, dreary days, we’re ready for it! Snow is melting and daffodils and tulips are popping up through the newly thawed ground. The bright pops of color make us feel so excited for the warm days ahead! We can’t wait to see bees buzzing, birds chirping, sunshine, and to experience days that feel chilly in the morning but warm up by the afternoon.

There are so many things we love about this season. It’s the perfect time of year for enjoying our backyard, having a picnic, or spending the afternoon with a book in the park. After all, we wouldn’t be the Word Nerds we profess to be without a few good days of laying in a hammock and enjoying a good story! We also love to decorate our house with fresh-cut bouquets of flowers that we’ve purchased or grown ourselves. One of our favorite Spring activities is planning out our garden each year, choosing plants or seeds, and getting our hands in dirt as we plant them. We love spring crops, like asparagus and lettuce, but we also love the anticipation of harvesting the plants we’re just beginning to nurture all throughout the Summer and even into the Fall. There’s so much satisfaction in planting, watering, watching the growth, and then enjoying the fruit of our labor!

Spring is about new life and new beginnings. That’s why it’s known as the time to thoroughly clean our houses and it’s also when we celebrate Easter. There are new shoots pushing through the cold ground, new animals being born, and new attitudes as we feel the sun on our skin and leave Winter behind!
